Old Pram  R1200

Isn't this pram just beautiful - I couldn't resist and had to give it a little push - heavy and cumbersome, but beautifully bouncy - note the gorgeous ceramic rose inlayed on the sides of the pram, sigh, they don't make things like they used to.......

I sourced another piano stool for a client today and whilst out and about this is what I spotted.

This piece looks like it was part of a dresser of some sort,  and only the bottom half remains - but I just loved the way it had been lovingly painted - I'm told it originally comes from the Transkei - wish I knew more of it's history ...

Tea Cozy

It's been freezing here the last couple of days.  I find I'm constantly making tea.  Lucky I have a supply of tea cozy's to keep my tea pot warm and cozy.  It really makes such a difference....

Have a look at this beautiful tea cozy that Hannah made for Su Wolf - the brief was to make one up in colours that you'd find in a rock pool, but with a touch of pink.  Clever Hannah.....

Beautiful antique dining room table looking for a home

I've come across this beautiful antique dining room table that's looking for a new home.  It dates back to 1890 and is 150cm diameter and made of oak.  Aren't the legs just gorgeous?

Lettie

The whole reason for this venture starting was due to my mum's friend Lettie, who has been buying and selling furniture and bric a brac for the past 15 years.  My mum and I had tea with her over Easter time and that was officially, where the idea for starting heirloom was born.

Pressed Pewter Mirror

This beautiful hand pressed pewter mirror was made in the 1930's by a lady called, Glenda Uys, who apparently was one of the first lady mayors in her day.  I am pleased to say that it has found a happy new home.

Hooray heirloom blog has begun...

We had a very successful open day.  I was pleasantly surprised at how many folk pitched up, and how enthusiastic and supportive everybody was.  It was lovely to see many old and new faces, and to have the chance to explain my new venture.
I've already had my first "sourcing" job and am currently busy with others, which I'll keep you posted on.

The open day, was really about creating a platform to launch this new venture.  I'd spent some time gathering beautiful things that caught my eye.  People were then invited to come and see my treasures and get an idea of what I like.  Some even did a bit of shopping...

What-not's are in vogue...

Some time back, my mum and I taught Hannah, our wonderful nanny, to knit tea cozies and hot water bottle covers.  Needless to say that more than a few of these went away tucked under the arms of happy customers.

Open Day

I love sourcing beautiful treasures, especially those that can be lovingly passed down through generations. heirloom is my new adventure, sourcing rare, handmade and beautiful furniture for your home and family.

Having worked in the interior industry for many years I have developed a keen eye for design from vintage to contemporary.  I have a wide network of suppliers through which to source old or contemporary treasures - from antiques and period pieces to farmstyle and contemporary furniture, paintings and accessories.  Whether it’s big or small, tell me what you are looking for and let me find it for you.

To celebrate the launch of heirloom, I will be having an open day on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th of May at my home.  Come and have a cup of tea and browse through some of the beautiful things I have found.
